Jubilee Challenge with Curnow

Congratulations to the KS4 students from Curnow Special School in Redruth who completed the Jubilee Challenge at Okehampton army camp last weekend. The group volunteered to participate in the 9 mile hike over Dartmoor way back in January and since then they have taken part in 3 practice hikes.  .

There’s a great film on the school FB page: https://www.facebook.com/393984960937428/videos/626940337641888/

The group worked well together as a team and helped some of the wheel chair competitors from other teams over some of the tricky bits – including a water hazard! The team  completed the event with style and panache despite the appalling weather that greeted them on Friday when they had to set-up camp

A total joy for Pegasus to have been heart of the challenge and let’s hope the school will take the momentum forward and enter next year’s event. Thanks to all the staff at Curnow for being such positive role models and also to the parents who are simply fabulous.
